The deep irony is that tumblr was almost exactly the same, back in the day. Its servers were constantly overloaded. And yet I see people still on tumblr claiming that PF not being 100% ready for the sudden surge of users is proof that they can't code or run a website because they're just dumb whiny fans who flounced from tumblr and are now crashing and burning.

...Sorry, I may be cranky about that. :/

I totally hear you. And honestly, I'm in fandom for the fen. If we lose the entitled, impatient whiners along the way, I can't say I'm sorry to see them go...

HI there! Sorry for the late reply. Was in RW for two days for a work conference and stayed overnight with the folks. No down-time for social media for me. :(

PillowFort is just in beta so far. It's supposed to be an interesting mix between tumblr and DW. So far the poor servers keep getting overwhelmed from the traffic, so it's hard to see what it's really going to be like. I've got an extra invitation key if you want it. At least you can camp on your username in case you decide to join at some point.
